The orchestra was founded in 1888 by six friends and held its first concert in the City Halls Glasgow in April that year.

We currently have a membership of around 20 players and continue to play our Annual Concert in Glasgow. We still love music! We love playing traditional Scottish reels, jigs, strathspeys, waltzes, polkas, two-steps, slow airs and folk tunes.

We perform at concerts throughout the playing season (October to May) for many groups, organisations and charities, to help them raise funds.

We have players of all ages, including students, some who work and some who are retired. Currently members play violin, accordion, flute, percussion the double bass and piano - we welcome other instruments too.  If you have an interest in playing with us why not come along to our rehearsal night and give it a go.
