We are in strange times and somewhat separated from each other. That’s no reason not to make music together, albeit, socially distanced and from our own homes. Here we hope to get a few new (and older) sets together in videos and add as many players involved as possible. How is this possible? How can you be involved?
Each video starts with one fiddle (or one first and second) then the keyboard player records his part and then the bass player adds his part. And then we are ready to add more and more people.
To do this there’s few things you need to do.
Download the video or play it from the website. Get set up with headphones - when you record your part we can’t have all the previously recorded music audible. We just want your performance.
Then get set up with your phone or video camera and play along while you film it. And then send the resulting video to friends@callyfiddle.com.
If you are filming yourself on your phone, remember to turn your phone on it’s side to make it landscape and keep the TV-shaped format (aka landscape). Or you can send the video and sound recording separately. The quality of the sound is important as we don’t want barking dogs, etc.
It’s fun and not that difficult.
